About Duncan Baker
Duncan started life as a submarine navigator and was then in the Diplomatic Service for 9 years. It was here, learning Arabic, that Duncan realised there had to be a better way of teaching languages. Since 1985 he has run Lydbury English Centre with his wife Rita. They offer short, intensive, residential, immersion courses in English for business and professional purposes to international corporate clients, small companies and individuals. He is on the BESIG committee and is the UK coordinator for IATET. He enjoys sailing and playing the bassoon. Duncan and Rita have 4 adult children and 3 wonderful grandchildren.

About Genevieve Besser

Genevieve Besser has been a freelance business and technical English trainer for corporations since 1993. She has written teaching materials for Cornelsen and contributes articles on technical and business topics to Business Spotlight. In the past she taught technical English to engineering students at the University of Siegen. Before coming to Germany in 1988, she worked in marketing in a high-tech company and as a financial analyst for Arthur D. Little. She holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York City with a concentration in international business.

About Paul East
Paul East is the founder and managing director of The Pyramid Group which offers a range of specialist English training (ESP) as well as providing translations and interpreting in 58 languages. He is also the owner of eBooks World, an online publishing venture. Paul is the President of the International Association of Technical English Trainers (IATET), Joint Coordinator of IATEFL BESIG (the world´s leading Business English teachers association) and a board member of EULETA (European Legal English Teachers Association). Memberships include Arbeitskreise für Technikgeschichte, Ulm, Ulm / Neu-Ulm Marketing Club and the BVMW (Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft Unternehmerverband Deutschland e.V.).

About Vicki Hollett
Vicki Hollett is an award winning author who has written many business and technical English courses for Oxford University Press and Pearson Longman. Vicki has taught English in Algeria, Japan and the UK and run teachers’ workshops in many countries in Europe, the Far East and South America. She has also trained teachers for the LLCI’s Diploma in English for Business, conducted syllabus development work for Cambridge ESOL and teaches online on the New School MATESOL program. British by birth she now lives in the US where she’s blogging about learning to speak ‘merican at http://www.vickihollett.com

About Björn Sauerhammer
Björn studied Chemistry with Management at Brunel University in London. He then got a PhD in the area of Surface Science from the Department of Chemistry at Cambridge University. After working in the Cambridge
University Institute of Biotechnology and the Max-Planck Institute for Iron Research Düsseldorf he decided to work together with his wife and entered in 2005 the field of language training. He is a partner in the language consultancy A&M Partners responsible for technical English and online training. In addition he lectures at the University of Applied Sciences Niederrhein and the RWTH Aachen. He loves to spend time with his family and is probably the only German cricket fanatic.
