Dogmeists believe in textbook lite teaching and basing lessons on the needs and wishes of the learners. Lessons are conversation-led and, by implication, cannot be prepared. It seems to me that teaching a la Dogme should be very possible in Second Life. A lot of people disagree. Come and hear the arguments for and seize the chance to voice the arguments against.
About Dennis Newson
Osna(cantab) Nesterov, called Dennis Newson by his parents is of undisclosed age in First Life (where he is allegedly retired) and about 2 years 6 months in Second Life.
He spent all his working life teaching English as a foreign language, starting in the last century in Ghana and Sierre Leone in West Africa and moving through Doha, Qatar in the Arabian Gulf to Trondheim in Norway and finally came to rest in Osnabrueck in North Germany. He has taught in middle and secondary schools, a teacher training college and for years and years in a German university. He was a member of the Dogme list since almost the beginning and believes passionately in the possibilities of Second Life for learning and teaching foreign languages.
