27. April 2014 @ 8:30 am - 9:00 am
World Clock Sun 8:30am GMT, 9:30am London, 10:30am Paris, 5:30pm Tokyo, 4:30am New York
Teacher training in EFL context so far has been very much influenced by theories which are not always from research in EFL context. It is not fully wrong but it is time for training programmes and activities to touch the ground by looking at the classroom in related context. Training room should be the transformation of the English classroom. Challenges and pitfalls in classrooms should be the focus of discussion in the training room in order to make the training more effective. Theories should not be exposed to teachers but should be translated into actions by the trainers.
Itje Chodidjah is an independent international teacher trainer in English education as well lecturer in university for undergraduate and post graduate degree. With almost 30 years in the field of ELT, she has also developed expertise in project design, implementation and monitoring in a range of settings.
